Course Description
The BLS Healthcare Provider Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or non-certified, licensed or nonlicensed healthcare professionals. As of January 1st, 2011 all professionals working in the dental field are now required to obtain an American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider CPR certification.

Intended Audience
Healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician’s assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel.

Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR
Basic Life Support Initial
BLS initial course is for new beginners that is new to healthcare and/or never had a BLS certification.
BLS Renewal
BLS renewal/skills is for expired or current cardholders looking to renew.

Skills
This course also offers the hands-on skills portion to the blended learning Heartcode BLS (if completed online). Please do not choose this option if you have not purchased the HeartCode BLS with Beat The Rhythm.
HeartCode BLS
HeartCode BLS Online is the online portion of BLS blended learning that will prepare students for hands-on practice and testing of BLS skills. Complete the online portion + hands-on skills session with one of our AHA Instructor.
